As it did in 2022, Sony leads the U.S. in Latin market share, with the combined output of Verde’s labels and those distributed by The Orchard at a substantial 43.9 percent — 10 points ahead of Universal Music. Almost half of that comes from the imprints within Sony Latin, but the wins go beyond market results, as the unit stood tall at the Latin Grammy Awards and in the Latin categories of Billboard’s Year In Music recap. All told, Sony/Orchard creatives earned 27 Latin Grammys in November, including record of the year for Natalia Lafourcade and song of the year for Bizarrap and Shakira’s “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol 53.” On Billboard’s scoreboard, Sony Music was top label for Hot Latin Songs and Latin Airplay as well as Latin Airplay Imprint, while Shakira, Bizarrap, Romeo Santos, Fuerza Regida, Carin Leon X Grupo Frontera and Manuel Turizo led seven additional year-end charts.
