Posing on the red carpet at the premiere of her new movie this summer, Dakota Johnson broke into a smile . . . and broke my heart.

Her grin revealed newly minted Californian dentistry; the gap in her front teeth — that delightful imperfection — now corrected.

Bereft and inconsolable at this bland amelioration, I re-watched a charming film short of Dakota putting various items — paper clip, 11 $100 bills, credit card etc. — in between her front teeth to remind me of the Fifty Shades Of Grey star’s happy gappy years.

You see, for a robust and red-blooded man, a girl’s midline diastema is very, very sexy.
